Get to know your Customer Day -Sheetex Oldham

Company Name: Sheetex Oldham

What do they do? Sheetex are based in Oldham and are a newer company that are a trade supplier of aluminium composite, foamex, correx and Perspex cast acrylic to name a few. They also provide flat and contour cut sheet supplies and sign material from their premises based in Oldham.

Where did they hear about Sagetech Machinery? Sheetex had originally come across Sagetech Machinery online, after doing some research into panel saws and what was available on the market, that may suite their requirements. After completing their initial research,  they contacted the team to get more information and have a more indepth chat about their business and what kind of machine they may need.

Why did they decide to purchase a Vertical Panel Saw? After their initial consultation with one of the team here at Sagetech Machinery, it was established that Sheetex required a panel saw that could cut down the 10ft by 5ft sheets of materials that were required for their customers. As they needed to cut a variety of materials, they wanted a machine that could incorporate as many as these materials as possible to limit needing multiple machines for different products. As Sheetex had a new unit available to them and knew that they needed a few other tools, it was important to find a space saving machine to fit their workshop, which is why they opted for the brand new ZapKut ZM16.

How did they find the sales and installation process? When Sheetex first got in touch with the team, they had looked a various other models of Vertical Panel Saws. A member of the team had an in-depth conversation with them about their requirements, materials, sheet sizing and available space and recommended the Zapkut ZM16.  They had previously looked at a Safety Speed Cut but soon realized that it wouldn’t have been capable of cutting the amount and sizes that Sheetex needed. It was reassuring to Sheetex to have the guidance from the team and felt confident that they had purchased the correct model.  The training on the machine was detailed and as they planned on having one person manning the machine, this meant they were able to become fully trained to use the machine to its full potential.

How has a Vertical Saw benefitted the business?  Sheetex have now been able to bring their sheet cutting in house, as it was previously being out-sourced.  This allows them more control over their cutting and reducing costs from paying external suppliers to cut the material.
